JUNIOR DESIGN SUPPORT
Scope of role:
As Graduate Design Team Support across both Acler and Significant Other, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day operations of our design rooms. This is a full-time support position focused on administration, organisation, and physical tasks — perfect for someone eager to learn the inner workings of a fast-paced fashion business from the ground up.
Reporting to the Head of Acler Design Team, you will work closely with both the Acler and Significant Other design teams, providing hands-on support to ensure the smooth and efficient execution of the design development process.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Studio & Physical Support
- Prepare and manage samples: steaming, counting, photographing, and documenting for internal and remote team use
- Mark off received submissions, tape pins, and prepare/label toiles for fittings
- Maintain a tidy and organised workspace: clear racks, manage fabric volumes, reorder materials as needed
- Assist with purchasing tools and collecting supplies (e.g. from fabric stores, local suppliers)
- Support on shoots: dressing models, steaming garments, taping shoes, and general set assistance
- Pack boxes and manage sample storage and filing
- Help manage inventory of design-related materials including trims, fabrics, and reference samples
2. Administrative & Operational Support
- Provide daily admin support to the Head of Design and Product Developer
- Assist with logistics including parcel bookings, tracking, and coordination
- Schedule meetings for design team members and external collaborators
- Take and distribute meeting notes, maintain clear record-keeping, and ensure timely follow-ups
- Assist in the preparation of handover packs for production and marketing teams
- Support with image edit instructions, reviews, and approvals
- Set up and maintain shared tools, trackers, and spreadsheets for efficient team operations
3. Design Process Assistance
- Provide light CADing support and assist in formatting line sheets and product overviews
- Help coordinate exclusive capsule presentations for key wholesale and D2C partners
- File and organise key submissions, design references, and development tools
- Offer ad hoc assistance to all members of the Acler and Significant Other design teams as needed
What We’re Looking For
- A self-starter with strong initiative and a willingness to get stuck into the less glamorous (but essential!) parts of the job.
- Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and accountability for timelines and responsibilities.
- Strong memory and organisational skills — someone who can keep track of lots of moving pieces.
- Physically capable and comfortable working in a hands-on, fast-moving environment.
- A team player who is eager to be a reliable pillar of support to both design teams.
Please note:
This is not a design role, and no formal Fashion Design training is required. However, exposure to fashion, creative industries, or adjacent administrative roles is ideal.
